Welcome to part 2 of 3 of our presentation of
the Vero Beach Estate on John's Island.
|
|
The main villa was designed for both formal
and casual entertaining. It consists of four jutting and graceful hexagonal corner pavilions
with peaked volume cypress ceilings -- such as the riverside 37'x 37' living salon with coral
rock fireplace -- which are connected by four vaulted lanai sections which themselves define,
surround, and open --through disappearing sliding glass -- to the huge central courtyard which
is the focal point of the home and to which its dramatic skylit front entry opens:
|
|
A lighted
atrium garden with heated free-form pool, spa, fountain and large deck surrounded by a
raised, wide, columned loggia that expands into an open veranda grill & dining room with
fireplace and twin built-in Ducane BBQs.
|
|
And this whole courtyard flows from and is just
an extension of the villa itself; neutral stone walls accented by arched niches with clay urns,
thick herpal stone floor with matching inlaid terracotta border, rustic green-hued patina
metal doors with inlaid glass panels, and massive stone columns which support solid wood
beams crowned by detailed millwork.
|
|
Also adjoining the courtyard is an open gourmet
center-island skylit kitchen with Subzero fridge, granite counters & snack bar, TV room and
greenhouse breakfast nook; a formal dining room with columned arcade; a riverside lanai
with wet-bar, soaring rock firplace & powder room; a library/office; two pedestal guest suites
with private baths & sun-gardens; and an onyx-floored master bath with huge his & her
closets, steam shower, bidet, Jacuzzi, and private atrium garden. |
